"UTOPIA is the realization of the dream of a Portuguese software development company, PLAKO, which aspired to be headquartered in a space with the least possible impact on the environment, through sustainable techniques. To do this, about 2,000 tires were reused with earth to make the walls of the new headquarters, which will be filled with mortar, lime, sand and about 11,000 used soda cans. The work should be completed by the end of the 2016 quarter.
This idea came up in 2010, at the time Plako was based in the center of Braga, in the middle of the hustle and bustle, a place where you could smell the exhaust pipe, complemented by a beautiful soundtrack of horns and the typical hustle and bustle that the center of a city is entitled to. And at that time they realized the need to change facilities, from an urban to a rural area, a place that would give more tranquility to their workers."
