"The Utopia building, as the new headquarters of Plako is called, which is born in Águas Santas, will be built by reusing almost two thousand used tires, making use of a construction technique developed by an American eco-architect and allowing a 70% reduction in carbon emissions and higher levels of energy efficiency than traditional construction materials. Reducing environmental impact as much as possible is one of Plako's objectives, with executive director Moisés Campos hoping that the project will serve to demonstrate to any technology-based company that it is possible to move from large centers to rural areas and continue to grow."
