"Two thousand used tires will be used to build the headquarters of the Plako technology company in Póvoa de Lanhoso, a building that is intended to have "zero impact" on the environment, it was announced today.

The executive director of the company, Moisés Campos, told Lusa that the investment will amount to 230 thousand euros and will allow the increase in the number of jobs.
"We have eight workers at the moment, but we plan to reach 25 within three or four years," he said.

Called "Utopia", the building will be constructed by reusing used tires, using a construction technique developed by the American eco-architect Michael Reynolds."
